WASHINGTON - The College Sports Communicators announced its 2025 Academic All-District® Softball Teams and Gallaudet University junior outfielder/pitcher
Lacey Drolsbaugh (Lansdale, Pa.) and sophomore infielder
Olivia Taufu'i (Blackfoot, Idaho) landed on the Division III team.
This is Drolsbaugh's second straight appearance on the CSC Academic All-District® Softball Team and the first for Taufu'i.
Drolsbaugh, a education major, has a 3.50 grade point average at Gallaudet University, the world's only university with programs and services specifically designed to accommodate deaf and hard of hearing students. Taufu'i, who is undeclared, boasts a 3.75 grade point average.
The GU pair are part of 32 representatives from a United East Conference program. Lancaster Bible College and Penn St.-Abington led the way with five honorees each.
Drolsbaugh and Taufu'i increases the amount of Academic All-District® honors for Gallaudet softball to five. The pair join
Emma Giuntoli (2023) and
Hannah Neild (2019), who later landed on the Academic All-America third team that year. The Bison athletic department has 22 Academic All-America honors in its history.
Outstanding student-athletes are nominated for Academic All-District® recognition by current dues-paying CSC members and must meet high academic and athletic standards. Eligible nominees will receive Academic All-District recognition.
The title Academic All-American is reserved for student-athletes who perform at an elite level in their sport and in the classroom.
To be eligible for College Sports Communicators Academic honors, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at their current institution and be nominated by their athletic communicator/sports information director.
