ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - The Gallaudet University women's track and field program opened its 2025 outdoor season here Saturday at the Seahawk Invitational hosted by St. Mary's College of Maryland . No team scores were kept for this meet.
First-year
Mackenzie Schirg (Factoryville, Pa.) finished first overall in javelin with top toss of 30.89 meters (101 feet, 4 inches) and second in the discus throw (28.99 meters).
Sophomore
Olivia Armstrong (Rotterdam, N.Y.) placed sixth in the 5,000-meter run as she crossed the finish line with a time of 25:53.58. It is her new career best.
First-year
Joy Watkins (Hockley, Texas) and Sophomore
Alecia Miller (Litchfield, Ill) participated in the 1,500 meters run and finished fifth and sixth respectively with a time of 6:05.88 and 7:22.76. Watkins also finished sixth overall in the 800-meter run with a time of 3:03.94.
Junior
Priscilla Berrios (Miami, Fla.) placed eighth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 31.71 seconds. Berrios took 10th in the 100-meter preliminaries with a time of 15.19 seconds.

Gallaudet and Howard University will host the Bison Classic next Saturday, April 5, at 9:30 a.m. at the Thomas O. Berg Track.
