Dakota Ronco earns CSC Academic All-District Women's Swimming honors

WASHINGTON  - The College Sports Communicators, formerly known as College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), announced its 2022-23 Academic All-District® Women's Swimming & Diving Teams and Gallaudet University junior Dakota Ronco (La Mesa, Calif.) landed on the Division III team. Ronco will now be added to the national ballot for the chance to earn Academic All-America honors, which will be announced on Monday, March 20.

Ronco, a biology major with a minor in writing, has a 3.78 grade point average and is a member of the Gallaudet University Honors program. Ronco is one of the 13 representatives from an Atlantic East Conference program. Cabrini University, Marymount (Va.) University and Marywood University had four honorees each.

This is the first year that the College Sports Communicators have broken out the men's and women's swimming & diving teams from the at-large category. The last time a Gallaudet women's swimmer earned Academic All-District honors came in 2013-14 when Katie Giles Bean was selected to the at-large team, she later landed on the Academic All-America second team that year.

To be eligible for College Sports Communicators Academic honors, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her athletic communicator/sports information director.
