Robinson was a multiple Deaflympic swimming award-winner, and Canadian ambassador to the Deaflympics.

"When my family moved to Rochester, N.Y….I was very much involved in speed skating and very good at it too. I practiced with the Olympic players. Then we moved to Vancouver. They did not have a place for me to practice speed skating but the Deaf school had a swimming pool so I started there," said Robinson.
