Ramborger was a standout track and field competitor who specialized in the 110- and 400-meter hurdles. He competed at the Deaf Olympics three times and later served as a five-time assistant coach for the U.S. Deaflympic team. Ramborger also served as Track & Field Coach at the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind in Spartanburg, S.C., for 38 years, with the track being named in his honor in 1988. He was named the National Deaf Track Coach of the Year three times, & the S.C. State Track Coach of the Year two times, & served as the Deaf Olympic Coach five times. He is a member of the S.C. Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
