RALEIGH, N.C. – The Gallaudet University softball team wrapped up play at the 19th Annual Triangle Collegiate Softball Classic here Saturday at the Walnut Creek Softball Complex. GU fell to Meredith College, 15-4, and Randolph-Macon College, 17-0, as both games ended in five innings.
In the first game, Meredith (4-5) built a 10-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back as the Avenging Angels recorded 10 team hits and three home runs.
For Gallaudet (0-5), sophomore third baseman
Kinsley Bond (Beulaville, N.C.) blasted a solo home run to center field in the top of the fourth inning in her home state of North Carolina, while first-year first baseman
Mattea King (Capitol Heights, Md.) led the team with two RBI.
Senior pitcher
Lacey Drolsbaugh (Lansdale, Pa.) (0-4) took the loss in the circle for the Bison.
In the second game, No. 12 Randolph-Macon (5-2) used two pitchers, Katerina Brabson and Kailey Jackson, to combine for a no-hitter against the buff and blue.
GU struck out 12 times as the Yellow Jackets pitching duo faced 15 batters.
Randolph-Macon scored 14 runs in the top of the first inning and finished the game with 17 hits, 17 RBI and four extra-base hits.
Bond (0-1) took the loss in the circle for the Bison.

The Bison return home to face Sarah Lawrence College (0-2) in non-conference doubleheader games tomorrow (Sunday) March 8, at 1 p.m & 3 p.m. at the GU Softball Complex.
