Gallaudet picks up six United East Men's Indoor Track and Field all-conference honors

LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East Conference released its 2026 Men's Indoor Track and Field All-Conference teams and major awards.

Gallaudet University brought home six all-conference honors with two Bison landing on the first team, two on the second team and two third team honors.

All-conference honors, in the form of medals (gold, silver, bronze), were given to the top three finishers at the 2026 United East Indoor Track and Field Championships held at the Prince George's Sports & Learning Center in Landover, Md., hosted by the United East on February 27.

Senior jumper Walter Douglas (Sanford, Fla.) successfully defended his conference title in the long jump with a top leap of 6.56 meters. Junior thrower Navar Harris (Charleston, W.Va.) won the shot put event with a top toss of 13.67 meters. Harris improved on his second team honor last season in the shot put with this year's first team honor.

First year runner Sevan Ikeda (Fremont, Calif.) earned three all-conference honors himself. Ikeda was second in the 1-mile run (4:45.84) and 5,000-meter run (16:19.76) as he picked up two second team awards. Ikeda finished third in the 800-meter run (2:08.17) to earn third team honors.

Junior thrower Andrew Suarez (Fairview, Texas) earned third team honors in the weight throw (13.37 meters) for a second consecutive year.

The Bison finished in fourth place out of five teams with 53 team points.

St. Mary's (Md.) College won its second consecutive United East conference championship as the Seahawks earned points in 13 of the 16 events to finish the meet with 167 team points. Penn State Harrisburg finished second with 150 team points. Lancaster Bible College (LBC) was third with 104.

St. Mary's Solomon David was named Field Athlete of the Year and Rookie of the Year while Seahawks head coach Reava Potter was picked as Coach of the Year.
