Four Bison earn CSC Academic All-District Football honors

WASHINGTON  - The College Sports Communicators announced its 2025 Academic All-District® Football Teams and Gallaudet University landed four student-athletes on the Division III team.

GU's honorees include senior long snapper Tyler Conner (Welsh, La.), senior linebacker Jacob Hundley (McKee, Ky.), senior Carter Johnson (McCall, Idaho) and senior wide receiver Jaylen Johnson (Redlands, Calif.).

There are 43 representatives from an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) program as seven teams were represented. Schools were limited to eight nominations for this sport. Randolph-Macon College, Shenandoah University and Washington and Lee University received the maximum of eight honorees to lead the way.

Gallaudet, the world's only university with programs and services specifically designed to accommodate deaf and hard of hearing students, has had 31 CSC Academic All-District® honorees since 2012. Former GU standout Adham Talaat is the only Bison that has earned Academic All-America® honors (2012, '13) in football. Conner, Carter Johnson, Jaylen Johnson make a third consecutive appearance on the CSC Academic All-District® team while Hundley makes his second straight appearance.

Outstanding student-athletes are nominated for Academic All-District® recognition by current dues-paying CSC members and must meet high academic and athletic standards. Eligible nominees will receive Academic All-District recognition.

The title Academic All-American is reserved for student-athletes who perform at an elite level in their sport and in the classroom.

To be eligible for College Sports Communicators Academic honors, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at their current institution and be nominated by their athletic communicator/sports information director. Student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games/contests played or must start in at least 66 percent of the games/contests/matches.

The Academic All-America football teams will be announced on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026.
