SALISBURY, Md. - The Gallaudet University men's track and field team competed in the Eastern Shore Challenge hosted by Salisbury University here Saturday. No team scores were kept for the meet.
Senior
Walter Douglas (Sanford, Fla.) placed first in the long jump with a top leap of 6.66 meters (21 feet 10.25 inches). Sophomore
Andrae' Green (Washington, D.C.) and junior
Sahej Walia (Apex, N.C.) also participated in the long jump and finished fourth (5.56 meters) and fifth (4.82 meters) respectively.
Green also participated in 200-meter dash and 400-meter run and placed 10th (24.63 seconds) and fourth (54.18 seconds) respectively.
First year
Ajani Zahira (Fruitland Park, Fla.) placed sixth in the 100-meter dash with a top time of 12.89 seconds and that was his career best.
First year
Mohamed Elsheikh (Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates) participated in the 800-meter run and finished sixth overall with a time of 2:32.72. Elsheikh placed ninth overall in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 5:15.42. Both times are his new personal best.
In the throwing events, sophomore
Navar Harris (Charleston, W.Va.) placed second in the shot put with a top toss of 12.46 meters. Harris participated in discus and finished 10th overall with a top toss of 28.02 meters. This is his personal best.
Sophomore
Andrew Suarez (Fairview, Texas) had a busy day as he participated in three events, Suarez placed sixth overall with a big throw of 35.31 meters in hammer throw. In the shot put event he finished seventh overall with season's best top toss of 11.52 meters. He competed in discus throw and finished eight overall with a top toss of 32.87 meters.
Walia participated in the javelin and placed seventh overall with a top toss of 28.99 meters.

GU will compete next Saturday, April 26, at the Paul Kaiser Classic hosted by Shippensburg University.
