Bison men's basketball ranked in United East preseason coaches poll

LATHAM, N.Y. - The Gallaudet University men's basketball team was picked 13th in the 2025-26 United East preseason coaches poll released on Tuesday.

Gallaudet posted a 3-21 overall record last season and went 3-13 in conference play.

Defending conference champion Penn State Harrisburg was picked as the top team as the Lions garnered eight first-place votes. Lancaster Bible College checks in at No. 2 in the poll as the Chargers received five first-place votes. Notre Dame of Maryland University was tabbed No. 3 in the preseason poll as the Gators picked up the final first-place vote. St. Mary's College of Maryland is fourth in the poll and Cairn University rounds out the Top 5. 

The 2025-26 United East men's basketball championship will consist of 10 teams in the postseason. The first round will be held on Feb. 18 with the quarterfinals on Feb. 21 followed by the semifinals on Feb. 24. The final two teams will square off on Saturday, Feb. 28, to determine the conference champion.

The Bison will begin the season on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 6 p.m. at College of Southern Maryland a two-year college.

Also see: The preseason poll rankings were conducted by the United East men's basketball coaches, with each coach ranking out all teams but their own using a staggered points system (13 points for a first-place vote, 12 points for second, etc.). No self-voting was allowed. This is the first year the United East has held preseason polls.
