Box Score WASHINGTON – Gallaudet University women's
volleyball defeated non-conference foe Gettysburg College in
straight sets, 25-19, 25-18, 25-20, before a festive pink crowd
Tuesday night in the Field House as the Bison participated in the
annual American Volleyball Coaches Association Dig Pink
initiative.
The Bison (15-8) had its best attack hitting percentage against
a non-conference opponent this year as GU hit .325 percent (48
kills, 10 errors, 117 attempts). Junior outside hitter
Kali
Frowick (Norfolk, Neb.) led the Bison with 17 kills
and 15 digs. Sophomore setter TraciAnn
Hoglind (Fishers, Ind.) passed out 43 assists, the
second most in her career, added six service aces. Senior opposite
hitter Lane Peters
(Phoenix, Ariz.) recorded 14 kills and eight digs in the win.
Gettysburg was led offensively by Courtney Morrow and Sarah
Gorski, who tallied seven kills each, while Lizzy Kuhn passed out
24 assists.
The Bison will hit the road this weekend to face some stiff
competition out of conference play against Richard Stockton in
Aston, Pa., on Friday, Oct. 11, at 6 p.m. GU will then go up
against No. 12 Eastern University on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 10 a.m.
and close out with a match against Neumann University on the same
day at 4 p.m.
