Box Score GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Gallaudet University picked up a big Mid-Atlantic region women's volleyball win Wednesday night on the road as the Bison won the final three sets over Gettysburg College, 3-1. GU lost the first set 25-27 before it won 27-25, 25-9, 25-21 at Bream Gym.
The Bison (14-4) were led by senior Ann Whited (Fishers, Ind.) and sophomore Kali Frowick (Norfolk, Neb.) as the two outside hitters knocked down 36 kills and 31 digs between the two. Whited led all hitters with 20 kills, 14 digs while Frowick tallied 16 kills, 17 digs. Senior Jessica Israel (Frederick, Md.) recorded 15 kills and sophomore Sarah Tubert (Burbank, Calif.) had 52 assists, four service aces and 10 digs. Freshman libero Kate Fetzer (Noblesville, Ind.) made a match-high 19 digs.
Gettysburg (10-7) was led by Sarah Gorski's nine kills and Lizzy Kuhn passed out 19 assists, made 11 digs and served up three service aces in the loss.
Gallaudet will host the 6th annual Worthington Classic on Friday, Sept. 28 through Saturday, Sept. 29. The Bison will host Trine on Friday at 2 p.m. followed by a match against Marymount (Va.) University at 8 p.m.
