WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University Athletics Department will host a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Rising Stars Day on Saturday, Sept. 20, in the afternoon as the Bison host several home athletic events.
DHH Rising Stars Day is a special event to welcome Deaf and Hard of Hearing K-12th grade students and their families to campus for a day of sports, fun and community connection.
On Saturday, Sept. 20, the Bison football team plays host to Averett University at 1 p.m. at Hotchkiss Field. In the Field House gym, the Bison women's volleyball team hosts the annual Worthington Classic and will play two matches at noon and 4 p.m..
There is a postgame BBQ cookout and social for all DHH Rising Stars Day attendees from 4-6 p.m.. There will be free food, fun and time to socialize and meet some of Gallaudet's athletic staff and student-athletes.
This event is free of charge and designed especially for DHH students and their families to experience the excitement of Gallaudet athletics and the vibrant community spirit on campus.

What attendees can expect; free admission to athletic events, free GU swag and spirit items, free postgame BBQ, opportunities to meet Gallaudet athletic alumni, staff, student-athletes and a family-friendly environment that celebrates the future stars of the DHH community. Interpreters will be available for new signers.
