WASHINGTON - The Gallaudet University Athletics Department is proud to announce its 2025 Athletics Hall of Fame Class. Over the course of a week plus the department will introduce one member of the eight-person class each day.
The eight-person class will be released in alphabetical order. Each release will include a brief summary of the inductees' career at GU along with a video of Athletic Director
Warren Keller contacting each inductee to share the news of being selected to the Athletics Hall of Fame.
At the conclusion of the rollout, a general overall release about the entire Athletics Hall of Fame class will be shared along with information for the event.
Our third inductee of the 2025 Gallaudet Athletics Hall of Fame Class is President Emeritus
Robert R. Davila, '53 & H-'88.
President Davila was Gallaudet's ninth President and served in that role for three years (2007-09). During this time a wave of positive change took place with the Gallaudet Athletics Department. Thanks to the support of President Davila a new turf field debuted at Hotchkiss Field along with many other upgrades to fields and facilities that Bison athletic teams used. Gallaudet University Athletics Hall of Famer
Michael Weinstock, '81 & G-'94Â served as the department's Athletic Director during this transformative era for Bison athletics and had President Davila's full support during this key point in GU athletic history. New full-time positions were developed and resources continued to grow. President Davila was a key recruiter to secure several coaches and staff members for athletics. This would turn into the foundation of the success Gallaudet athletic teams had years later. To read more about President Davila's accomplished career and history he made

The 2025 Gallaudet Athletics Hall of Fame event will take place during Homecoming Weekend on campus. The induction ceremony is set for Sunday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m., in the Peikoff Alumni House ("Ole Jim").
The Gallaudet Athletics Hall of Fame Induction is one of the premier events of the year for the GU Athletics Department. The special event recognizes the individuals, past and present, whose contributions to Gallaudet University Athletics have been deemed worthy of induction into the Gallaudet Athletics Hall of Fame.
To be considered for the Gallaudet Athletics Hall of Fame one must be a former Bison student-athlete, coach and/or contributor that is five years removed from the University. One must be nominated in writing and submitted to the Gallaudet University Athletics Department during an open nomination period. Inductees can be deaf, hard of hearing or hearing. All nominations are then screened and reviewed by the Gallaudet Athletics Hall of Fame committee.
