GU drops a pair on the road to Saint Elizabeth

MORRISTOWN, N.J. – Gallaudet softball took a double loss on the road to Saint Elizabeth University this Saturday.

In the first inning, the Eagles (18-16) gave up one run to the Bison (3-27) after junior Lacey Drolsbaugh (Lansdale, Pa.) nailed a triple to right center, advancing to home on a later overthrow.
Gallaudet remained in the lead, 1-0, until only the second inning when Saint Elizabeth batted their entire roster to score four runs. The Eagles claimed six more runs throughout the game to take the win 10-1 by the sixth inning.

Gallaudet left the field with three hits and one error as pitcher Drolsbaugh took the loss (2-11).

GU entered game two with confidence recording three hits and two runs in their first at-bat. Saint Elizabeth declared dominance in that same inning scoring three runs and leading 3-2 until the third inning when they launched the scoreboard to new heights. The Eagles landed 17 runs in the third inning, leaving the Bison trailing behind and out of sight.

Saint Elizabeth was not finished there, scoring four more runs in inning four to take the game 24-2.

First year starting pitcher Kinsley Bond (Beulaville, N.C.) took the loss on the mound (0-9), while she shined three for three at the plate with an RBI, a double, and a single. Drolsbaugh closed out the third and fourth inning on the rubber. GU tallied seven hits and committed 2 errors throughout the game.
