WASHINGTON – The first Gallaudet University women's flag football game took place here Saturday at Hotchkiss Field as the Bison hosted a tri-match with Penn State Harrisburg and Rosemont College.
Gallaudet (2-0) rolled with two blowout victories as the Bison club team steamrolled Rosemont, 47-0, and took down Penn St.-Harrisburg, 44-2, in the final game of the day.
"Practice makes perfect," said Gallaudet coach
Emelia Beldon after the victories. "This team pushed each other and have shown their motivation to learn how to play flag football. Our practices these past three weeks paid off even during cold and bad weather. This team brought amazing energy to the field today."
Penn St.-Harrisburg (1-1) defeated Rosemont (0-2) in the second game of the day with a 12-6 victory.
"Hard work, teamwork and team bonding made today such a big success for us," said Gallaudet first year
Charisma D'Angelo. "It's so exciting that we now have women's flag football at GU."
This recap will be updated with team and individual statistics once those box scores are complete.
