READING, Pa. - The outside shots were falling here Saturday for the host Penn St.-Berks while Gallaudet University tried to keep pace in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) South Division men's basketball game. The Bison lost by eight, 89-81, to the Nittany Lions.

Gallaudet (2-12, 2-3 NEAC) made seven of its 10 3-pointers in the second half but the buff and blue could not slow down Penn St.-Berks (1-12, 1-4 NEAC), who made 16 3-pointers the second most in program history. The Nittany Lions, who made eight 3-pointers in each half, celebrated their first win of the 2019-20 season.

Junior guard Preston Kelly (Fishers, Ind.) scored a season-high 29 points as he made 10 of 13 shots from the field, including 5-for-6 from 3-point range. Kelly was two points shy of his career-high (31) that he scored last year against Penn St.-Berks. Kelly added six assists, five rebounds and two steals.

Senior guard Noah Valencia (Riverside, Calif.) scored 12 of his 23 points in the second half. Senior center Steve Valencia-Biskupiak (Riverside, Calif.) was the third Bison in double figures with 14 points, six rebounds and four blocks.

Penn St.-Berks was led by guard Jeff Lorah as he tallied 26 points as he made 50 percent (5-for-10) from 3-point range.
